Introduction to MoNET
The Laboratory of Molecular Neuroimaging Technology (MoNET) is an advanced neuroimaging lab that performs brain research through the use and development of multimodal neuroimaging technologies based on functional MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, positron emission tomography, transcranial magnetic stimulation and electroencelphalography/magnetoencephalography.
MoNET has participated in multidisciplinary collaboration with the Departments of Neurology, Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, and Rehabilitation at Yonsei University College of Medicine for clinical research, and the Departments of Communication and Education and the College of Fine Arts at Yonsei University for applied neuroscience research.
MoNET is part of the Department of Radiology, Yonsei University College of Medicine and Division of Nuclear Medicine at Severance Hospital, Seoul, Republic of Korea. MoNET is also affiliated with the Severance Biomedical Science Institute, the Department of Biomedical Science and Engineering at Yonsei University College of Medicine and the Brain Korea 21 Project for Medical Science.
The mission of MoNET is as follows:
- Contribute to overcoming brain disease through brain research and development of neuroimaging research techniques.
- Expand understanding of human mind through neuroimaging research and contribute to the enhancement of mental health.
The vision of MoNET is as follows:
- Strengthen international-level neuroimaging research capacity.
- Combine basic neuroimaging research and clinical neuroscience to lead general neuroscience research.
